Download applique patterns to make your own reproduction quilt.

The Chester Criswell Quilt was made in 1852 by Alice Criswell for her daughter Mary McClellan Criswell.  The original quilt has 61 red and green applique blocks, each one signed by Mary’s family and friends.  Mary’s great-great-granddaughter Sharon has begun the pleasant task of reproducing the quilt.  Sharon is publishing the downloadable patterns as a block of the month.  The First Year contains the first twelve patterns as well as stories about the women and men that made each block.  The Second Year began on 1st September 2013. The Third Year is now complete. All the patterns stay online – you can now purchase each pattern whenever you are ready.
